a website redesign for a Virtual Reality technology company
Introduction
VR Tech Systems Inc (VRTS) is a Virtual Reality technology company developing applications for creating, distributing and accessing live or pre-recorded events. VRTS covers filming, post-production, and the content distribution process.
Challenge
VRTS, a Tacoma based Virtual Reality technology company, requested a redesign of their website to better attract their target audience and add new content.
Research
Client goals for this project included following:

Process
I started the project with information architecture of the website and made quick paper wireframes with following changes:
-
removed "Contact Us" form from the "Request Demo" page, due to being redundant and unnecessary form (by requesting a demo visitor is already contacting the company)

added footer, which contains copyright and "About VRTS" information
Next, I created new color scheme, which would attract target audience. Conversation with the client revealed that their target audience are businesses and individuals who are interested in assistance with creating, post production and distribution of the VR content. It was important to send a message of trustworthiness, security, reliability and intelligence to the visitors of the website. Therefore, I created a blue monochromatic palette.
After new color scheme was created I modified existing logo, icons to match new color palette and simplicity of overall new website design.
I added a hero image to the home page of the website as well as following new content:

a list of technologies and its features offered by the VRTS (TotalCam, TotalPan, TotalZoom, MegaScreen)
